Wollhaus Oberzwirgi

Wollhaus Oberzwirgi is an idyllic holiday home on the edge of a forest clearing, originally a stable from the late 19th century, lovingly extended and completely redesigned in summer 2015. The house’s unique philosophy centers on wool: the insulation of the exterior and interior walls and roof was made entirely from wool produced by the landlord family, with a small viewing window showing the inner workings of a wall, and even the bedding is 100% pure wool. Each room tells its own story about sheep, wool, and its many uses. The outdoor area is equally special, set away from the crowds in a forest-edge clearing surrounded by nature. Note that the house isn’t directly accessible by car — there’s a car park about 300 meters away, reinforcing the retreat-like, tranquil character of the property. The surrounding area offers plenty of activities for both adventure-seekers and those after relaxation, including mountaineering, ice skating, climbing, mountain biking, cycling, tobogganing, alpine and cross-country skiing, and tennis. The house has two bedrooms and one bathroom with shower, a kitchen with oven, toaster, kettle, and dishwasher, a veranda, and a barbecue area, with mountain views and a grocery store 6 km away, a restaurant 700 meters away, and bike hire right on site. No pets are permitted, and the house is non-smoking.
