Incredible! What a fantastic time aboard a houseboat in Amsterdam! The interior is beautifully designed and Han proved to be an outstanding host. This is definitely worth experiencing. Located within easy walking distance of Central Station, you’re right in the city center. Staying here transformed my Amsterdam visit into something truly special and unforgettable. Thank you Han for all you did!

Ferry (Han’s associate and helper) was remarkably hospitable and warm. He carried our luggage aboard and showed us how to live on the boat. He even stocked the fridge with refreshments for our arrival. Responses to our questions came quickly. The boat itself is gorgeous. The level of care in the construction is evident throughout. The beds were exceptionally comfortable with premium mattress toppers that ensured restful sleep! The interior offered far more space than anticipated—plus two full bathrooms! (Accessing the kitchen and main bedroom requires ascending and descending a ladder, so this may not suit those uncomfortable with heights. For us, it added to the adventure.) Gazing through windows at the canal was delightful. Morning coffee on the deck was equally enjoyable. We can’t overstate how wonderful Ferry and Han made our experience.

All in all, this was a delightful stay. The houseboat was clean and had sufficient room for our four-person family. Hans communicated well, and Ferry, his assistant, was invaluable in helping with check-in. Proximity to the train station was excellent, with stunning Amsterdam vistas. A note—this is indeed a houseboat. Those seeking a 5-star hotel experience should book a hotel instead. Bathrooms are compact; despite ample living quarters, ladders are necessary and one bedroom is a small cabin space. This is standard for boat living. As larger-framed guests, certain aspects proved somewhat challenging, though we recognized this as part of the unique appeal. Check-in and wifi setup were straightforward, and most of Amsterdam’s attractions were easily accessible on foot. We drove only twice—to the Van Gogh Museum and the airport. Everything else was highly walkable, plus there’s a shop nearby for groceries.

Our time at Han’s canal boathouse was wonderful. Superb location with a warm, accommodating, and thoughtful host. The vessel is distinctly special, immaculate, thoughtfully furnished, and cozy with beautiful scenery and constant activity from passing boats. Excellent deck space. Han provided complimentary beverages and snacks including beer, wine, juice, milk, and even specially obtained stroopwafels. We couldn’t recommend Han’s boathouse more highly and would absolutely return. Our sincere thanks, Han.
