The 4-bedroom trulli home is nestled among large trees on an expansive property (approximately 3-5 acres), with a separate guest trulli nearby. We enjoyed complete privacy for our two-week stay, with only occasional visits from Angelo and Felica, the caretakers, who are warm and welcoming. Speaking Italian will enhance your interactions—you might even receive fresh eggs! The main house is spacious and pleasant. The kitchen functions well (most burners operational) and is ideal for multiple cooks, with a reliable sink and refrigerator. Hot water comes via 5-gallon tanks serving both kitchen and baths. Windows provide excellent cross-ventilation, though you’ll want to ensure screens are tight against mosquitos. The setting offers convenient access to nearby villages for markets and local exploration, plus an exceptional pool perfect for leisurely afternoons. Consider adding fresh throw pillows, seat cushions for outdoor chairs, and a new cover for the covered patio area. The motorized shade structures and limestone dining table (seating 8) are ideal for outdoor meals. Grilling fresh fish and relaxing with a refreshment is the perfect way to spend an evening.

The property didn’t live up to expectations set by the photos. The house showed signs of neglect and hadn’t been properly cleaned upon arrival. The outdoor areas—terrace and garden—were similarly poorly maintained, with several items in disrepair. Following complaints, additional cleaning was performed, though incompletely, and some repairs were made but took time. The intermediaries made genuine efforts, but intervention came too late. Significant maintenance and repair work remains needed. The swimming pool and lounging area are attractive. The stated distance and travel time to the sea are misleading—poor road conditions and lack of direct routes make access more difficult than advertised. Locorotondo is reasonably accessible, and a small grocer and bakery nearby handle most shopping needs.
