Ca L’Ortí – Big House For 14, Two Steps From The Beach And 15 Min From Barcelona

Looking for a bit of calm and privacy? Ca l’Ortí is ideal for family and friends. El Masnou is a pleasant seaside town in the hills next to Barcelona, right on the seafront, close to the town centre and a short walk from the train station — 20 minutes from Barcelona, 1 minute from the beach, and 25 minutes from the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló.

The house sits just 1 minute from El Masnou’s beach and is ideal for large groups after a relaxing few days by the sea. A roof terrace offers sea views for sunrise and sunset, with Barcelona visible in the distance. Inside, the ground floor has a bright, spacious living room with comfortable sofas and a TV area, a dining room with direct patio access, a full bathroom with shower, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The house spans 3 floors: the ground floor holds the kitchen, living room, dining room, patio and a bathroom. The first floor has three bedrooms (one with 2 single beds plus an extendable bed, one with 2 single beds, and one with bunk beds and terrace access) and a further bathroom with a bathtub. The second floor has three more bedrooms, each with 2 single beds, plus two bathrooms with bathtubs. The top floor has a fantastic terrace with sea and beach views. All six bedrooms are spacious and bright, with double-glazed windows on the sea-facing rooms for better sound insulation, and a fan in every room. The house is decorated in a coastal style, with original details throughout, and works well for both short and long stays. It’s centrally located in El Masnou, in a well-connected residential area right across from the beach.

The patio, ideal for private meals, has a charcoal barbecue and a small laundry corner with a sink and washing machine, and there are loungers on the terrace for sunbathing. The kitchen opens directly onto the patio for easy outdoor dining. WiFi is included throughout, and the house is exclusively for guests’ use — the patio and BBQ area should be kept clean and respected.

Included in the price: bed linen, bath towels, shampoo, shower gel and an initial kitchen starter kit. Check-in runs 16:00–20:00 (please confirm your arrival time in advance).

Optional extras (subject to availability): beach towels €3 each; travel cot €15; high chair €5; additional cleaning (min. 4h) €80 (seasonal); late check-in €50 (8pm–midnight) or €100 (12:01am–2am); starting the booking on a Sunday, where available, adds €100. Not included: the security deposit, and Catalonia’s tourist tax of €2 per person per night (max. 7 nights, guests 16+ only), under Catalan Law 5/12 and Decree Law 6/2025.

We give guests independence but are always available and happy to share recommendations. Welcome and key handover runs 4pm–8pm, arranged in advance (arrive as early as possible in high season, as many arrivals coincide on F1/MotoGP weekends and July–August Saturdays). Handover outside these hours: before 4pm depends on availability; 9:01pm–midnight costs €50; 12:01am–2am costs €100; no key handover outside these windows. During check-in we’ll go through the house rules, check-out process, and collect the city tax (€2 per person, per night, cash or card, max 7 nights, guests 16+) and the deposit (via credit card pre-authorisation), along with signing the house rules and the rental contract.

House rules: not available to groups under 25; a rental contract and ID checks are required for the lead booker; minors must be supervised by an adult at all times; rubbish should be taken out regularly to the nearby street containers; resources should be used responsibly, as wasteful use of electricity, water or gas can be deducted from the deposit. Not permitted: hosting more guests than registered; noise between 9pm and 9am; parties, events or bachelor/bachelorette celebrations; using bath towels at the beach or pool (rental towels are available separately); smoking indoors (exterior spaces only, with ashtrays provided); charging electric vehicles from the house supply; groups of students; and pets. Breach of these rules may require guests to vacate the property, as the houses we manage sit in quiet residential areas where we need to preserve good relations with neighbours.

El Masnou has a maritime character, with a marina 1km away full of good restaurants, bars and nightlife, and sits within El Maresme, a peaceful area with clear beaches and a coastal promenade running all the way to Barcelona — great for cycling. The house is also close to the Circuit de Catalunya for motorsport fans. El Masnou is about 17km (15 minutes by car) from Barcelona, well connected by road and rail, and neighbours Alella, a wine region with charming bodegas worth visiting.

Getting around: the nearest train station is Ocata, roughly 20–30 minutes to Plaça Catalunya; buses run day and night connecting to nearby towns and Barcelona; a trusted local taxi contact is available on request for airport transfers. Barcelona itself is 20–30 minutes by car, though note that foreign-registered vehicles need to be registered with the Metropolitan Register to drive within Barcelona’s low-emission zone (ZBE).
