Casa da Vargem II sits on a plot of two properties in the warm, sunny municipality of Ponta do Sol, in a spot with excellent sun exposure and sea views.

Large green areas surround the property, along with a beautiful organic vegetable garden tended by D. Fátima, who looks after a wide variety of aromatic herbs. Rounding out the outdoor space is a wonderful shared pool with infinity ocean views and a hot tub for a comfortable, anti-stress soak.

Inside, the decor pairs well with the home’s modern architectural touches, standing out for its simplicity and good taste. The house has one bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, with a maximum capacity of 2 guests. A parking space is available, and baby amenities can be arranged for an extra cost on request.

The house is in the south-western part of the island, in Ponta do Sol municipality, with a small grocery store nearby and the centre of Ponta do Sol just 6 minutes away, offering several restaurants, cafés and shops. Ribeira Brava, a 10-minute drive away, has supermarkets and local shops. The airport is 40 minutes by car and Funchal 25 minutes away.

A few house rules, to keep things pleasant for everyone: smoking indoors isn’t permitted (a €300 fine applies), parties or events aren’t allowed, and neither are pets. Please be mindful of noise, especially at night — the property may have a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature purely for safety, without recording conversations or personal data; tampering with this or other equipment isn’t permitted. In line with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid ID for registration. Municipal tourist tax (where applicable) is €2.00 per person, per night, for guests aged 13+, up to 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay maximum), with a payment link sent ahead of arrival. Check-in must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance or is subject to availability; check-in is from 16:00, check-out by 12:00, with early/late options subject to availability and an extra charge.

All bed linen and towels are provided, and we’re happy to provide a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath free of charge if requested before check-in (last-minute requests within 48 hours may carry a fee). Every property has a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket. For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service replenishes linens, towels and consumables; this isn’t included for shorter stays. Extra cleaning during your stay can be arranged on request for an added fee.
