Set on the ground floor of a historic villa — no stairs to deal with — this apartment occupies one of the quietest corners of Amsterdam’s Museum District, directly across from the Rijksmuseum’s gardens. At roughly 80 square meters, it’s private and calm, with a living-room window that looks straight out onto the museum and a private 26-square-meter garden patio lit for evening use that feels like its own hidden retreat. Three-meter ceilings and the highest monumental heritage status in the Netherlands make this a genuinely unique place to stay. Both bedrooms have king-size beds (180 x 200 cm), making it comfortable for a family or two couples, and an extra air-mattress bed (150 x 200 cm) can be set up in the living room on request. There’s one full bathroom off the hallway — not through a bedroom — with a toilet, shower/tub combo, and sink, plus a separate half bath with toilet and small sink. The kitchen is fully equipped and even dispenses filtered, sparkling, and boiling water straight from the tap, with coffee and tea provided. Air conditioning covers the whole apartment, with dedicated units in the living room and each bedroom plus extra fans for hot days, and the place is genuinely set up for families — a high chair, baby cot, toddler travel bed, playpen, and bed rails can all be arranged on request. The location is hard to beat: next door to Amsterdam’s most upscale shopping street, home to Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Tiffany, and Chanel, and just around the corner from the U.S. Consulate.
